Watching
animals do tricks and jumping through hoops is not entertaining, and
when people do it, I like it even less.
It is amusing to hear gallery owners refer to the artists, that they
represent, as their `stable'. It must be one of those `Freudian
slips'.
I am always disappointed when a gallery owner pays me a visit and
says "Oh, Yeeessssss... I liiikkke... that, that, and that,... noooo...
oooohhhh noooooo... that just wouldn't goooo. They continue quickly
leafing through, piece after piece,
"Yes, yes.....No. no"
Any artist worth his salt, (in keeping with the stable) has a
healthy scepticism of commercial galleries, and gets his licks in
later in life.
